Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Authors are encouraged to use a reference manager (for example Mendeley, Zotero, Endnote) to organize the references in the manuscript. Where available, DOIs for the references have been provided.
  • The submission file is in accordance with the English Template or Indonesian Template.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

Welcome to Jurnal Puitika. Authors are kindly requested to read the following guidelines carefully before submitting their manuscripts. Manuscripts that do not comply with these guidelines may be returned to the authors for revision prior to the review process.

Scope of the Journal

Puitika accepts original research articles within the fields of linguistics, literary studies, and cultural studies, including interdisciplinary studies related to these areas.

Manuscript Requirements

Submitted manuscripts must meet the journal’s writing standards. The length of the article should range from 4,000 to 6,000 words, excluding the abstract and references.

Articles may be written in either English or Indonesian. For articles written in Indonesian, the abstract must be provided in English.

Article Template

Authors are strongly encouraged to prepare their manuscripts using the journal template.

Citation and Referencing Style

Puitika applies the APA referencing style (7th edition). Authors are expected to ensure the accuracy and consistency of all citations and references.

Structure of the Article

The manuscript should be organized in the following order:

  1. Title
  2. Author Name(s)
  3. Author Affiliation(s)
  4. Abstract
  5. Introduction
  6. Methods
  7. Results/Findings
  8. Discussion
  9. Conclusion
  10. Declaration of Conflict of Interest
  11. Acknowledgements
  12. AI Usage Statement (if applicable)
  13. References

All notifications regarding the editorial and review process will be sent to the email address provided by the corresponding author during registration and submission.

Publication Fee

Puitika does not charge any article processing charge (APC) or publication fee for accepted manuscripts.

Originality and Academic Integrity

Puitika only accepts manuscripts that have not been previously published and are not under consideration by another journal at the time of submission.

Puitika upholds the principles of academic honesty and integrity. Therefore, only original manuscripts free from plagiarism will be processed for publication.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) Usage Policy

The use of artificial intelligence (AI) tools must be clearly declared within the manuscript body before the references section. Authors should specify the AI tool(s) used, how the tool(s) were used, and the purpose of their use in the research and writing process.

Review Process

Puitika does not provide or accommodate any form of fast-track review service.

All submitted manuscripts undergo a blind review process. The review process generally takes approximately 3–4 weeks, depending on the number of manuscripts currently under review.

Copyright and Licensing

Authors whose articles have been published in Puitika are encouraged to disseminate their work through institutional repositories, academic platforms, and professional networks.

Copyright of the published work remains with the author(s). All published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0).

Authors who publish in Puitika retain full copyright and publishing rights over their work. By submitting their manuscript, authors grant Puitika the right to publish and distribute the work while maintaining control over how their research is used and shared.

Licensing Terms

All articles published in Puitika are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike (CC BY-SA) license. This means:

  • Readers are free to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full text of articles without restrictions.
  • Users may adapt, remix, transform, or build upon the material, as long as they give appropriate credit to the original author(s) and share any derivative works under the same CC BY-SA license.
  • Proper attribution must be given, including citation of the original publication in Puitika.

Author Rights

Authors retain the right (but not limited) to:

  • Distribute their published work in institutional repositories, personal websites, or any other open-access platforms.
  • Use their published work eg. for educational and scholarly purposes, including conference presentations and classroom teaching.
  • Create derivative works or translations based on their original publication.

Third-Party Content

If an article includes copyrighted material owned by a third party (such as images, figures, or extended quotations), authors must obtain proper permissions before submission and provide appropriate attribution.

By publishing in Puitika, authors agree to these copyright and licensing terms, ensuring that their work remains freely accessible while maintaining academic integrity and recognition.

If accepted, authors will receive a Letter of Acceptence (LoA).

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
