At Puitika, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of ethics in scholarly publishing. We believe that academic integrity, transparency, and honesty are fundamental principles in maintaining the quality and credibility of scientific publications. Therefore, all parties involved in the publication process, including authors, reviewers, and editors, are expected to comply with ethical publishing practices and professional standards.
Puitika considers plagiarism a serious violation of academic ethics. Plagiarism refers to the act of presenting another person’s work, ideas, or intellectual property as one’s own without proper acknowledgment. This includes direct copying of texts, figures, or data without citation; self-plagiarism or redundant publication; paraphrasing another author’s ideas without attribution; and presenting another researcher’s findings or interpretations as original work without appropriate acknowledgment.
To ensure the originality of submitted manuscripts, all submissions are screened using Turnitin before entering the peer-review process. Manuscripts containing minor similarity issues may be returned to the authors for correction and proper citation. Manuscripts containing moderate plagiarism may be rejected with an opportunity for revision and resubmission, while manuscripts containing severe plagiarism or substantial verbatim copying will be rejected immediately. In serious or repeated cases, Puitika reserves the right to notify the author’s affiliated institution or relevant authorities. If plagiarism is identified after publication, the published article may be retracted from the journal archives.
Authors submitting manuscripts to Puitika are expected to ensure that their work is original, has not been published previously, and is not under consideration by another journal or conference. All listed authors must have made substantial contributions to the research and writing process. Honorary authorship and ghost authorship are strictly prohibited. Authors are also responsible for properly citing all sources, including quotations, paraphrased ideas, datasets, and visual materials. Funding sources, institutional affiliations, and contributions from colleagues or collaborators should be acknowledged appropriately.
In addition, authors must ensure the integrity and reliability of their research data. Fabrication, falsification, and selective reporting of findings are considered unethical practices and may result in immediate rejection of the manuscript. Authors may also be asked to provide raw data or supporting documents for verification purposes when necessary.
Reviewers play an important role in maintaining the academic quality and integrity of the journal. They are expected to provide objective, constructive, and fair evaluations of submitted manuscripts while maintaining confidentiality throughout the review process. Reviewers should not use unpublished materials for personal benefit and must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence their judgment. They are also encouraged to report any suspected plagiarism, duplication, or ethical concerns identified during the review process.
Editors at Puitika are responsible for ensuring a fair, transparent, and professional publication process. Editorial decisions are made solely on the basis of scholarly merit, without influence from personal, political, or commercial interests. Editors are committed to ensuring that all manuscripts undergo a rigorous peer-review process and that ethical concerns are handled appropriately and transparently. When ethical violations are discovered after publication, the editorial team may issue corrections, retractions, or other necessary actions.
If a published article is found to violate ethical standards due to plagiarism, data fabrication, or other forms of serious misconduct, Puitika may publish a correction notice or retract the article formally. Retracted articles will remain accessible in the journal archive with a clear retraction statement to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record. In cases involving deliberate misconduct, the journal may also notify the author’s institution, funding body, or other relevant authorities.
Puitika follows internationally recognized publication ethics guidelines and best practices, including those established by the Committee on Publication Ethics, the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors, and the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing.
By submitting a manuscript to Puitika, authors acknowledge their commitment to ethical research and responsible publishing practices. Violations of these principles may result in manuscript rejection, article retraction, or other disciplinary actions deemed appropriate by the journal.
