AI Usage Policy

The editorial board of Puitika recognizes the growing role of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in academic research and scholarly publishing. In accordance with international standards of publication ethics, the use of AI tools in the preparation of manuscripts submitted to Puitika is permitted only under strict conditions of transparency, accountability, and scholarly integrity. AI systems—including but not limited to generative language models, automated translation tools, machine-learning-based analytical software, and AI-assisted image or code generators—must not be credited as authors under any circumstances, as they do not meet accepted authorship criteria and cannot take responsibility for the accuracy, originality, or integrity of scholarly work.

Authors who employ AI tools in any phase of manuscript development—whether for language editing, technical assistance, data processing, conceptual support, or figure generation—are required to explicitly disclose such use in the AI Usage Disclosure Statement submitted alongside the manuscript and, when appropriate, in the Acknowledgments section. Disclosure must include the type of tool used, version information, and an explanation of the specific purpose of its application. The use of AI systems must not replace the intellectual contributions of the authors, particularly in tasks requiring critical reasoning, interpretation of data, theoretical formulation, or evaluation of scholarly evidence.

Authors bear full responsibility for verifying the accuracy, reliability, and originality of any content generated with the assistance of AI tools. They must ensure that AI-produced material does not contain fabricated or falsified data, distorted claims, biased or discriminatory expressions, or plagiarized or copyrighted material. Any output from AI must be rigorously reviewed and edited by the authors to meet accepted academic standards. Manuscripts that rely on AI to generate substantive scientific content, argumentative structures, or research conclusions will not be considered for publication.

The editorial board reserves the right to request clarification regarding disclosed AI usage, to screen manuscripts with plagiarism- and AI-detection tools, and to reject submissions that violate ethical requirements or demonstrate undisclosed reliance on AI. Noncompliance with this policy constitutes a breach of publication ethics and may result in manuscript rejection or retraction.
