Author Guidelines

Author Guidelines
Authors interested in submitting manuscripts to Puitika are expected to adhere to the following guidelines to ensure a smooth submission, peer-review, and publication process. The journal publishes original research articles, critical essays, and reviews within the fields of linguistics, literature, and cultural studies that have not been published, accepted for publication, or are under consideration elsewhere. Manuscripts may be written in Indonesian or English and must follow an academic style and standard scholarly writing conventions. The manuscript length should be between 4,000 and 7,000 words, excluding abstract and references. Submissions must be prepared in .doc or .docx (Microsoft Word) format and follow the journal’s article template (12-point Calibri, 1.15 line spacing, and narrow margins). Puitika accepts only human-authored manuscripts and does not allow generative artificial-intelligence-produced texts.

Focus and Scope
Before submission, authors should ensure that their work aligns with Puitika’s focus and scope. The journal accepts scholarly work that offers theoretical, methodological, or empirical contributions in linguistics, literature, and cultural studies.

Submission Process
All manuscripts must be submitted through the online submission system on the official Puitika website. Authors must register and log in to initiate a submission. Only one manuscript per author may be under review at any given time.

Peer-Review Process
All submissions undergo double-blind peer-review by at least two experts in the field. The review process may take 6–8 weeks. Authors will receive detailed feedback and a decision: accept, accept with revisions, revise and resubmit, or reject.

Ethical Standards
Authors must ensure that the submission is original, unpublished, and not under review elsewhere. All manuscripts are screened using Turnitin, and the similarity index must not exceed 25%; submissions above this threshold will be automatically rejected. Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest and provide evidence of ethical approval for studies involving human or animal subjects.

Copyright and Licensing
Authors retain copyright of their work. Published articles are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0). Authors are permitted to self-archive preprints, postprints, and the published version in institutional or personal repositories.

Article Processing Charges (APCs)
Puitika does not charge submission or publication fees. It is a zero-APC journal.

Referencing Style
All citations and references must follow APA 7th Edition. Authors are encouraged to use reference management software such as Zotero, Mendeley, or EndNote.

Post-Publication
Authors are encouraged to disseminate their published work through institutional repositories, academic platforms, and professional networks. Any errors or requests for corrections must be reported promptly to the editorial office.
