Puitika

Puitika, an open-access scholarly journal managed by the Indonesian Literature Study Program, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Andalas, provides an academic platform for innovative and critical research in the humanities. The journal welcomes scholarly contributions in linguistics, literary studies, cultural studies, and related interdisciplinary fields, with an emphasis on originality, methodological rigor, and academic relevance.

Volume 22, Number 2 (2026) is currently in published.  This issue features five articles. The published articles address a range of topics in literary studies, linguistic, cultural interpretation, and critical analysis. They comprise “Gagasan Optimisme dalam Cerita Rakyat Minangkabau ‘Curito Urang Bansaik’: Kajian Fiksi Robert Stanton,” which examines optimism in Minangkabau folklore through Robert Stanton’s theory of fiction; “Unsupervised Human Behavior and the Collapse of Civilization: Conformity and Moral Instability in Lord of the Flies”; “Analisis Semiotika Roland Barthes terhadap Makna Kritik Politik dalam Lirik Lagu ‘Surat Buat Wakil Rakyat’ Karya Iwan Fals,”; which explores political criticism in song lyrics through Roland Barthes’s semiotic framework, "Fungsi Rerefensial dan Vokatif Istilah Kekerabatan dalam Kaba Rancak di Labuah," which analyses the function of kinship phrases in traditional Minangkabau folktale; and "Eropa sebagai Ruang Ketiga dalam Dua Novel Jerman Kontemporer Bergenre Familienroman: Katzenberge dan Das achte Leben (Für Brilka)," analyzing two Germany's novels in focusing on the finding self identities through their characters.      

The published contributions reflect the diversity of the authors’ institutional affiliations and geographical backgrounds. One article is authored by an Indonesian scholar affiliated with the Department of Minangkabau Literature, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Andalas, Indonesia; another by an Indonesian scholar affiliated with the Department of Karawitan, Faculty of Performing Arts, Indonesian Institute of the Arts Surakarta, Indonesia; the third by a Bangladeshi scholar affiliated with the School of Foreign Languages and Cultures, Southwest University of Science and Technology, Sichuan, China, and the Department of English, Pundra University of Science & Technology, Bogura, Rajshahi, Bangladesh, Department of Indonesian Literature, Faculty of Humanities, Universitas Andalas, and authors from Universitas Padjajaran, Bandung, in collaboration with author from Universitas Gadjah Mada, Yogyakarta. This range of affiliations reflects the issue’s engagement with scholarship from diverse institutional and national contexts.

All submitted manuscripts undergo a blind peer-review process to ensure rigorous scholarly evaluation. Puitika is published biannually, in April and September, and accepts manuscripts written in either English or Indonesian. Authors are required to follow the journal template.

As an open-access journal, Puitika publishes its content under the Creative Commons Attribution–ShareAlike 4.0 International License (CC BY-SA 4.0), facilitating access to and the sharing of scholarly work. The journal does not offer a fast-track review service and operates under a zero-APC policy: no article processing charges or other publication fees are required for accepted manuscripts.
